I used Luke once before around 8 years ago for surveying some drains put in by builders - I had a superb service. So when our house recently had various issues (slow washing machine drainage/filling utility sink and intermittent sewer smells in the utility room) I knew who to call. Luke is brilliant at communications which is hugely refreshing in this day and age, replying to every message. He came round with the team , did some camera work and smoke testing and immediately found the issues - effectively the design of a few drains was incorrect leading to build ups of sewage in one manhole leading to the odours plus an incorrectly routed washing machine drain. He quoted for the mods which was extremely reasonable and he subsequently came with the team to do the mods at an agreeable date. Needless to say the mods have worked - no build up or odours and washing machine drains like a dream with no sink backfill. Luke is only interested in solving customer problems and he is like a dog with a bone in this sense. Some tradespeople are just after a quick buck - it's brilliant to find a company who want to gain a great reputation by doing great work. Highly recommended.

I called Urban Reactive to look at a blocked soil pipe with suspected root intrusion. Luke was able to give me a good idea of cost over the phone, and had a team out to me at my earliest convenience. The guys gave me lots of information about what they were looking at and talked me through how best to resolve it. It was all very transparent and informative and they went ahead and fixed the problem with a resin casing, and showed me a video on completion. Everything is working fine again within the day and I'll be sure to call them again if I have any other problems with my drainage system.

I never thought I’d need a ‘drain man’, but having bought an aging house that had stood empty for a while and was in need of refurbishment, I found I did. Luke and his team have kept my system going whilst preparing for the build. They are knowledgable, efficient and quickly responsive in an emergency. They will be my drain company of choice when I refurbish my home. If you need a go-to drain company, Urban-Reactive are the best! Highly recommended.

I cannot recommend Urban Reactive too highly. They delivered on time, to budget and to a really high standard, a new driveway at the front of my home. This required extensive works, including the removal of a large volume of concrete, new drainage and the creation of garden space. Everyone involved was truly a pleasure to deal with, unfailingly tidy, and very considerate. Having been recently widowed I was nervous about carrying out works alone - they made the process a pleasure.

Sewer pipe blocked on 1st Jan and a well-known national company came out and jetted it but did not put a camera down and it blocked again days later. Insurance company sent another big company out who put a camera down, told me that the problem was tree roots but did not fix it. Urban-reactive came out, got rid of the roots and then came back a couple of weeks later to repair the pipe and raise manholes above the patio. Did a very nice job.

Drain Repairs in Wrexham

Drain repair in Wrexham is essential if you notice persistent drain problems. It’s important to address these issues promptly with a drainage specialist. You need Drain Repair in Wrexham if your drain has collapsed or sustained damage that can’t be fixed with standard unblocking methods. A collapsed drain can quickly turn into a costly problem if ignored. We offer expert repairs for any type of drain damage, restoring your drains to proper working condition.

How we do Drain Repairs in Wrexham?

We approach every issue differently. However, we always know the answer to your problem and tackle it properly. Our Drain Repairs in Wrexham are well-priced and efficient.

Here are a few ways we can help:

Drain patch repairs

Patch repairs are a practical solution when a drain pipe has cracked but is still structurally stable. This method allows the repair to be carried out from within the pipe, avoiding unnecessary excavation and minimising disruption. Using specialist equipment, a reinforced patch is installed over the damaged area to seal the crack and strengthen the pipe wall. Patch repairs are suitable for all standard pipe sizes and help prevent the damage from spreading.

No-dig and trenchless drain repair

Concerns about mess and inconvenience often lead people to delay drain repairs, but leaving the problem unresolved usually results in more extensive damage and higher costs. With modern no-dig and trenchless repair techniques, many drainage issues can now be resolved internally without exposing the pipework. Repairs are guided by internal camera equipment, enabling accurate, efficient problem resolution. In many cases, this eliminates the need for traditional drain repairs that require excavation.

Full drain repair

Some drainage issues are too severe for internal repair methods, particularly where a drain has collapsed or suffered significant structural damage. When excavation is required, the work is carefully planned to minimise disruption and completed as efficiently as possible. The recommended repair approach is always discussed with you in advance so you know exactly what to expect.

Our engineers are fully trained and experienced in all types of drain repair. Even when excavation is necessary, our priority is to restore your drainage system properly while minimising inconvenience. Ongoing problems can also be reduced through planned drainage maintenance services, helping to prevent future issues.

What causes a Drain to Collapse?

When performing drain repairs in Wrexham, we have addressed multiple collapsed drains, often caused by various factors. The most common cause is persistent blockages in the pipes, which lead to water flooding the ground and exerting pressure on the drainage system, resulting in collapse. Other causes include:

Ground Movement:

Ground movements can be unavoidable and may cause pressure that can crush or collapse pipes. Tree roots can also impact pipes; while they need to grow around pipes, they can invade, interfere, and potentially crush them.

Wear and tear

Yes, your drains can collapse on their own. If your pipework is old and stressed, it is highly likely that they have failed due to the degradation of the materials.

How do you know if a drain has collapsed?

You can identify a collapsed drain if you notice any of these signs, as it can significantly impair the drain’s ability to remove water and sewage from your property. Poor drainage is a clear indicator that you need a Drain Repair in Wrexham. Common signs of a damaged drain include:

Damp or Mould Appearing Indoors

When a drain starts to fail, it can affect the surrounding pipework and the ground around your property. If a pipe leaks or a collapsed section sits beneath the house, moisture can slowly spread into walls and floors. This often shows up as new damp patches or mould. Garages and outbuildings should also be checked, as drainage runs often pass beneath them.

Water Draining Away Slowly

Slow drainage is often an early warning sign that a drain repair may be needed in Wrexham. If sinks, showers, or baths are taking longer than usual to empty, there may be an issue forming underground. A CCTV drain inspection allows the inside of the pipe to be checked, confirming whether the problem is a simple blockage or a structural issue such as a collapse.

Ongoing Sewage Smells

Persistent sewage smells in or around the home usually indicate a problem within the drainage system. Damaged or collapsed pipes can allow foul odours to escape rather than being properly carried away. While some odours are caused by minor blockages, persistent odours often indicate damage that should be addressed promptly.

Sewage Backups and Repeat Blockages

When a drain collapses, waste cannot flow through the pipe as it should. This can lead to sewage backups and recurring blockages. If these issues occur regularly, it often indicates that the pipework has been damaged. A CCTV survey clearly confirms the cause, removing any guesswork.

How much does it cost to repair a drain in Wrexham?

Drain repair costs vary by issue and extent. Collapsed drains are more expensive than cracked pipes. We offer competitive, effective, and affordable quotes. The best way to find out the cost in Wrexham is to contact us for a drain survey, which quickly identifies the problem and provides a quote.

We can repair most drains in Wrexham from your manhole.

We proudly carry out most drain repairs in Wrexham with our advanced trenchless cured-in-place drain lining techniques. With the latest technology at our fingertips, we’re able to expertly mend entire drain lengths or just specific sections of your damaged drainage system. Our team will install resin-cured lining directly from your inspection chambers, so there’s no need for disruptive and costly excavation work. This approach helps us keep your repairs efficient, affordable, and hassle-free.

How do you fix a broken drain in Wrexham?

Depending on the drainage issue, the affected section must be replaced, and the root cause addressed if necessary. A collapsed drain is usually caused by tree root infiltration or corrosion, so the source of the problem will be properly managed before replacing the drainage piping. Refer to above for other, less likely possibilities. A leaking drain pipe will be replaced with a new section, which will immediately resolve the issue. These problems will be quickly identified through a comprehensive drain survey in Wrexham, using advanced CCTV inspection cameras, enabling us to fix the problem within a day.
