I used Luke once before around 8 years ago for surveying some drains put in by builders - I had a superb service. So when our house recently had various issues (slow washing machine drainage/filling utility sink and intermittent sewer smells in the utility room) I knew who to call. Luke is brilliant at communications which is hugely refreshing in this day and age, replying to every message. He came round with the team , did some camera work and smoke testing and immediately found the issues - effectively the design of a few drains was incorrect leading to build ups of sewage in one manhole leading to the odours plus an incorrectly routed washing machine drain. He quoted for the mods which was extremely reasonable and he subsequently came with the team to do the mods at an agreeable date. Needless to say the mods have worked - no build up or odours and washing machine drains like a dream with no sink backfill. Luke is only interested in solving customer problems and he is like a dog with a bone in this sense. Some tradespeople are just after a quick buck - it's brilliant to find a company who want to gain a great reputation by doing great work. Highly recommended.

I called Urban Reactive to look at a blocked soil pipe with suspected root intrusion. Luke was able to give me a good idea of cost over the phone, and had a team out to me at my earliest convenience. The guys gave me lots of information about what they were looking at and talked me through how best to resolve it. It was all very transparent and informative and they went ahead and fixed the problem with a resin casing, and showed me a video on completion. Everything is working fine again within the day and I'll be sure to call them again if I have any other problems with my drainage system.

I never thought I’d need a ‘drain man’, but having bought an aging house that had stood empty for a while and was in need of refurbishment, I found I did. Luke and his team have kept my system going whilst preparing for the build. They are knowledgable, efficient and quickly responsive in an emergency. They will be my drain company of choice when I refurbish my home. If you need a go-to drain company, Urban-Reactive are the best! Highly recommended.

I cannot recommend Urban Reactive too highly. They delivered on time, to budget and to a really high standard, a new driveway at the front of my home. This required extensive works, including the removal of a large volume of concrete, new drainage and the creation of garden space. Everyone involved was truly a pleasure to deal with, unfailingly tidy, and very considerate. Having been recently widowed I was nervous about carrying out works alone - they made the process a pleasure.

Very professional, efficient and friendly service at a competitive rate. The response to my enquiry was very quick and the information provided was clear and easy to understand. The team arrived on the day and time quoted and ensured I was advised on what they were doing at every stage of the job. They were very polite and left the work area clean and tidy. I would not hesitate to use them again and recommend them to anyone else.

Sewer pipe blocked on 1st Jan and a well-known national company came out and jetted it but did not put a camera down and it blocked again days later. Insurance company sent another big company out who put a camera down, told me that the problem was tree roots but did not fix it. Urban-reactive came out, got rid of the roots and then came back a couple of weeks later to repair the pipe and raise manholes above the patio. Did a very nice job.

Great job carried out by Urban Reactive today. Damp living room wall caused by blocked gully on roof & blocked downpipe & drain full of roots. Blockage cleared, drain rebuilt with concrete & brick surround. All debris taken away. The lads were very respectful of my property whilst carrying out some of the work via a velux window in loft bedroom.
Very reliable,would highly recommend.

Septic Tanks & Treatment Plants in Flint

A septic tank or treatment plant installation in Flint is ideal for properties without access to the mains sewerage. Our septic tank installation service will provide you with the ideal storage system to meet your household needs.

We can coordinate septic tank emptying if it is nearing capacity and provide maintenance for your sewage treatment plant in Flint to ensure optimal performance.

A septic tank is a straightforward storage system located in Flint into which your household sewage is discharged, rather than being directed into a main sewer system, a service frequently necessary for rural properties to manage their waste effectively.

How does a sewage treatment plant in Flint work?

A sewage treatment plant in Flint processes sewage and safely discharges it into a waterway without harming the environment. These treatment plants convert your sewage into a clean stream.

They are an alternative to a traditional septic tank, which requires regular professional emptying and then sends the waste to a bespoke sewage treatment plant in Flint.

How often do you need to empty a septic tank in Flint?

The frequency with which you need to empty your septic tank in Flint depends on the number of inhabitants in your household, the frequency of use, and the size of the septic tank. Generally, septic tanks should be emptied every three to five years. Prompt emptying of the septic tank is crucial, as overfilling can lead to severe consequences.

Indicators of a Full Septic Tank:

– Water Levels: If you observe water pooling in your garden without recent rainfall, it may indicate that your septic tank has overflowed.

– Odour: Given that septic tanks handle waste, unpleasant odours are common; a foul smell around the house could suggest an issue.

– Sewage Backup: This is a definitive sign that your septic tank requires servicing. It is advisable to contact a professional immediately and minimise water usage.

– Slow Drains: If sinks, toilets, and drains are functioning more slowly than usual, it may be due to a clog or blockage, which could be symptomatic of a full septic tank.

Why should you empty your septic tank?

If you maintain your septic tank in Flint, it will last a very long time, and repairs or replacements can be very expensive. Looking after your septic tank means regularly cleaning it.

Also, cleaning your septic tank in Flint is healthy for your community, neighbourhood and environment.

Whats the difference between Septic Tanks & Treatment Plants in Flint

  • Sewage treatment plants need a permanent electrical supply to operate. This is because they have mechanical components. Septic tanks don’t have these components and therefore don’t need a power supply.
  • A sewage treatment plant treats wastewater, whereas a septic tank only separates it. This means that wastewater leaving a sewage treatment plant is more environmentally friendly than wastewater from a septic tank.
  • A typical septic tank has two sections, whereas a sewage treatment plant usually has three.
  • You can drain wastewater from a sewage treatment plant directly into a local watercourse because of its cleaner output. From January 1st, 2020, you cannot do this with a septic tank.

What size septic tank do I need?

The appropriate size of septic tank in Flint for your property largely depends on the number of people living in your household and the overall size of your property. Larger households or properties typically require bigger septic tanks to handle the volume of waste generated.

We are available to advise you on selecting the right septic tank size based on your household size, daily water usage, and property characteristics, ensuring your septic system functions effectively and reliably over time.
